Books to Help Change Your Mindset
For the purpose of this blog post, I want you to be honest with yourself. How often are you negative? Unhappy? Stuck? Filled with worry and fear? Or do you typically feel happy and excited? Do you look forward to what the future will bring? I’ve been both people and there’s no
You are a Badass
You are a Badass is a hysterical self-improvement book that gives strategies and tips to change your mindset. The author is sassy and a straight shooter. She believes that you need to change your mindset to succeed in this world. Throughout the book I was laughing and learning. She teaches her readers how the mind can work for you to achieve happiness, as well as the material items you want. She also focuses on overcoming self doubt and fear when taking action. My biggest takeaway was that I have the power to change my life and fear is the only thing holding me back.

The Universe Has Your Back
In my opinion, this is one of the best books to change your mindset. The Universe has your Back was written by Gabby Bernstein. In the past, Gabby has hit “absolute rock bottom” (which she discusses in her books) and has since transformed her life. She is now a NY Times Best Seller, well known in her field, and inspires millions of people around the world. Her book is a bit spiritual and I love that! If you remain open to her ideas and practices, you won’t be disappointed.
This book is designed to help you rely on faith rather than fear. This helps us make choices that are aligned with the best version of ourselves. She includes meditations and prayers throughout the book as well as audio versions to positively change your life. Each meditation is designed to bring a new sense of peace, healing, and/or awareness. I personally believe this is the best book to change your mindset.

Girl Wash Your Face
You knew it was coming… this book is a best seller for a reason. Rachel Hollis is realistic and practical, all while being inspirational. She talks about many things that we overlook because we are “used to it” or things we’ve unknowingly made a habit. Rachel Hollis also asks you to examine the excuses we often make from day to day and hold ourselves accountable in order to achieve the life of our dreams. In Girl Wash Your Face, Rachel Hollis provides incredible advice on how to achieve the goals you are after and how to stop accepting mediocrity. So if you are ready to change your mindset and habits, this book is perfect for you.
You Can Heal Your Life
You Can Heal Your Life is not for everyone. This book suggests that you can create and change everything in your life. The author, Louise Hay, believes we have the power to change our reality, specifically our health. The author also discuss how you can change your mindset to lose weight.
For example, if a person suffers from arthritis, that may reflect feelings of criticism, resentment, and feeling unloved. Therefore, Louise Hay provides exercises and strategies for releasing stored negativity that we hold on to and how to forgive people for the sake of healing ourselves and our ailments.
I started my mindset journey with this book. I realized that my thoughts can either harm me (stress) or they can help me. This book holds you accountable in a sense. It asks you carefully examine your thoughts and past tribulations in order to experience health and freedom.
Zen and the Art of Happiness
One of my last books that will change your mindset is Zen and the Art of Happiness. The simplicity of this book is astounding. It’s is easy to read and gets straight to the point. The author believes that nothing is a mistake, everything happens for a reason, and tough moments can be blessings in disguise. Our minds spend a great deal of time in the past and in the future, but rarely in the present. This book helped me to become a more patient person and taught me strategies to keep my mind in the present moment. This helps bring true happiness.
Make Your Bed
You may be familiar with the graduation speech by US Navy Admiral William McRaven. This video is motivational and the book is even better.
In the book Make You Bed, the author provides a refreshing look at self-development. He discusses his 10 key points taken from his experiences as a Navy Seal. To quote one review on Amazon that I think sums it up perfectly – “McRaven says that life is tough, but meeting challenges with discipline, determination, a positive attitude, and the support of others will most often lead an individual to a meaningful life that will inspire others.”
